Electric Bike Mods

Assembling this electric bike when it was delivered was already joyfully nostalgic of my childhood lego and puzzle days, that it sparked a build drive. Well let’s start with the look. Since I don’t yet have knowledge in electronics let me play with the design because this is not a motorcycle, this is not a harley, let me make it more me. With my work on the upcoming fashion show on the way, my first attempt was to revert to carving out material I already had around the studio and foam was plentiful.

With the aid of a table saw and dremel, I came up with this turtle shell design for the hub of the bike with hopes to cast it into a metal positive. However after riding the bike I soon realized a metal cast on the ELECTRIC hub would overheat, my idea had to be revamped with ventilation. Versus adding foam and vent holes to a metal cast that might still overheat in the summer I decided to continue the bead work over to the look of the bike for a parade vehicle at the fashion show. Assembly was just as easy so the design was free form and rhythmic towards the shape of the hub and beads on hand.
